Summit is 2!

happy happy birthday sweet Summit!

I can't believe our baby bear is 2! She still seems like such a puppy but at the same time, it seems like she's been part of our family much longer then 2 years. I guess a lot of things in life feel that way.

Summit's birthday was yesterday and she got to open a present from Aunt Susan. She loved both opening her gift and the toys inside, especially Leroy the Lobster... she has carried him around pretty much non-stop since.

I worked yesterday, so I decided we would fully celebrate today instead. We started out the morning with a trip to the Cherry Creek Farmer's Market. Summit got to see lots of friends (of the canine and human variety), try lots of tasty samples and give many kisses to little kids who all just love her, and were really excited it was her birthday! We also found her birthday bone "cake" which is really a cookie this year because the dog bakery I got her 1st birthday cake from has since closed. She had a great time!

After the market, we packed up for an afternoon hike. Mike was still helping our friends move, so it was just us girls. We hiked to the summit of Chief Mountain and had a great time! It was a gorgeous day with bright, bright blue skies and enough white puffy clouds to keep it cool.
