Colorado Road Trip

Thank you to everyone who's voted for our puppy's name! The race is really close - we might just have to spend a little more time with her and see which of the top names stick. I am also thinking about writing the top names on pieces of paper and putting them on the floor and letting her pick. We'll see. But thanks so much for voting!

It's been a few days since we got back from our weekend road trip. After 750 miles and 18 hours on the road, we were pretty exhausted but I have some great photos to share, so here we go...

I know that I already shared puppy visit photos but I already miss her so much! I'm ready for her love and kisses everyday!

After we left Del Norte, we were on the road toward Durango. It was an absolutely beautiful day with some great views!

A "scenic view" along the way - the views from this pull off were pretty great. We could see all the way across the huge valley. A very cool spot.

We stopped for dinner in Pagosa Springs, and ate at Kip's Grill and Cantina. They make some really great fish tacos. Then, back on the road, this cloud was covering the sun in an amazing way - it made the sun literally beam out from behind the cloud in a very, very blue sky.

Along the way, between Durango and Telluride, our directions told us to take Hermosa Park Road. The beginning of the road was unpaved but we pressed forward on the dusty road anyway. Little did we know, we were heading into quite an adventure. One river to forge...

and one herd of cows to cross and a very long, very treacherous boulder-filled dirt road later...

we made it to Telluride (well after dark, so we didn't see the cute little town till the next morning).

We had to stop by "Maggie's" in honor of our doodle bug.

This is a bird's eye view of Telluride from the top of the gondola.

And of Mountain Village on the other side of the mountain.

We went to the end of town and hiked up to the largest waterfall in Colorado. We didn't get any really great shots of the waterfall but this is Telluride Valley from the top of the hike.

Then we were headed back to Denver, two tired puppy lovers, taking in the amazing views.
