Day 1: Evening departure from a selected Icelandair gateway in North America to Reykjavik.
Day 2: After early morning arrival in Iceland, the rest of the day is open for you to enjoy your own activities. We recommend a visit to one of Reykjavik’s geothermal swimming pools. It is a wonderful way to shake off jet lag.
Day 2: After early morning arrival in Iceland, the rest of the day is open for you to enjoy your own activities. We recommend a visit to one of Reykjavik’s geothermal swimming pools. It is a wonderful way to shake off jet lag.
Day 3: Start the day with a buffet breakfast at the hotel. The morning and afternoon are open for your own adventure. Just remember to leave tonight open for your Northern Lights adventure! Perhaps you’ll visit some of Reykjavik’s great museums and galleries.
Meet in the hotel lobby before 6:30pm departure on Northern Lights tour. Hop into an authentic Land Rover that has been specially-outfitted for taking Iceland’s uniquely rugged landscapes. (Five to seven passengers per vehicle with driver guide). You will be whisked out of Reykjavik in search of a night sky that is free of city lights. The route varies based on weather and road conditions but will head through the scenic volcanic landscapes of Southern Iceland. During the exploration, your jeep will head down to the black sandy beaches for some exciting off-road coastal exploration. You’ll pause here to enjoy the unforgettable scenery and a shot of Iceland’s famous “Black Death” schnapps before continuing to search for the wonders of the night sky. The journey takes you to Stokkseyri, a coastal village with charming corrugated-iron houses and a view of volcanoes and the sea. Enjoy an unforgettable lobster feast at “Fjorubordid,” one of Iceland’s most renowned seafood restaurants. The flavorful langoustines are a local specialty fished right from the pristine waters nearby and prepared in a traditional Icelandic style. Afterwards, the quest for Northern Lights continuing, returning to Reykjavik around midnight.
Day 4: Start the day with a buffet breakfast at the hotel, after the day is open for your own adventure. Maybe you’ll consider a tour to enjoy an exciting activity such as glacier ice hiking. Or maybe you’ll visit the fabled Golden Circle region and relax at the lovely Fontana steam baths. Other interesting activities might include horseback riding in ancient lava fields or sightseeing in beautiful Snaefellsnes National Park.
Day 5: Start the day with a buffet breakfast at the hotel, after the day is open for your own adventure, with a late afternoon departure to North America. Perhaps you might visit the world-famous Blue Lagoon and its soothing mineral hot springs before being dropped off at the nearby Keflavik airport.
Feeling so incredibly blessed I can hardly control myself!
